Jamily is currently a second year PhD Student in the Department of Integrative Biology at Michigan State University. She is also pursuing a dual-degree in Ecology, Evolution and Behavior, and a Certificate in Museum Studies.

She received a BS degree in Biological Sciences and Master degree in Genetics and Molecular Biology from the Universidade Federal do Pará (UFPA-Brazil). Since the summer of 2015, she has performed scientific research as well as scientific illustrations and graphical standardization for image publication in scientific journals.
